A logistics coordinator is responsible for managing all aspects of shipping routes and delivery, specifically with regard to customer satisfaction.
As a logistic coordinator, customer satisfaction is a priority as this is how business remains successful.
Additionally, a logistic coordinator is well-versed in supply management principles and practices.
Responding immediately to customer questions and complaints and notifying them of any delays in the delivery schedule is essential to this position.
Responsibilities &
Essential Functions:
Plan and track shipment of final products according to customer requirements Communicate with suppliers, retailers and customers to achieve profitable deals and mutual satisfaction Maintain logs and records of warehouse stock and executed orders Arrange same-day deliveries whenever possible Communicate with transportation manager and yard manager Responsible for maintaining current database of qualified external carriers to meet transportation needs Responsible for negotiating prior freight contracts with external transportation providers Facilitate new carrier onboarding process to qualify carrier as a new vendor (ie.
Work in AP process) Responsible for assigning/ maintaining efficient order flow from the companies reload facilities to the company branches/ external customers.
Responsible for developing future freight lanes/opportunities with outside vendors to facilitate growth for the company backhaul/freight for other programs.
Other duties, as assigned and requested by management.
REQUIRED COGNITIVE AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Personable, articulate, knowledgeable and professional when communicating with customers.
Must be able to remain in a stationary position more than 50 percent of the time.
Ability to learn software and skills quickly with a mature and service-oriented attitude.
Great communication (verbal and written) and organizational skills.
Attention to detail, highly motivated, and ability to manage multiple tasks.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
Capability and means to travel on a flexible schedule, as needed.
Self-starter, pro-active and able to take initiative.
Required credentials:
Experience in a building products industry is preferred, a combination of education and experience will be considered.
Minimum of 3-5 years of customer service is required.
General knowledge of the construction or building products industry is preferred.
Prior wholesale lumber product experience, a bonus Must be computer literate, and proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel Ability to work with little supervision and track multiple processes Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Keen on working in a fast-paced environment We are proud to have the best team in our industry.
